Adopt Wild Hearts: Where Unconventional Companions Find Ethical Homes
Founded 2024 | Serving 40+ U.S. States

 🌿 Our Mission
We bridge the gap between misunderstood animals and exceptionally prepared humans. Through rescue, rehabilitation, responsible adoption, and sanctuary care, we give ferrets and raccoons a life of dignity—while protecting people, ecosystems, and the animals themselves from the risks of impulsive “pet” ownership.

📜 Our Story
*In 2024, wildlife rehabilitator Dr. Elena Rossi and ferret rescuer Jamal Thompson met at the scene of a highway accident—a truck carrying 50 “pet raccoons” to the exotic pet trade had overturned. As they worked through the night to save terrified animals, they realized:*
> *”These creatures need advocates, not owners. We must redefine ‘rescue’ for species that belong in the wild—or with humans who truly understand them.”*

From that crisis, Adopt Wild Hearts was born:
– 🦝 Raccoons: Focused on sanctuary placements (permanent, expert care) and rehabilitation/release (for wild orphans).
– 🐾 Ferrets: Prioritizing adoption of surrendered pets and education to reduce abandonment.

—❓ Why Ferrets AND Raccoons?
| Ferrets 🐾 | Raccoons 🦝 |
|——————————|——————————–|
| *Domesticated for 2,500 years* | *Wild animals with complex needs* |
| **WE DO**: Adoption to vetted homes | **WE DO**: Sanctuary placement only (no private “pets”) |
| 90% come from surrendered homes | 100% come from seizures, injuries, or illegal trade |
| Goal: Reduce shelter overcrowding | Goal: Provide lifetime expert care |

💚 Our Core Values
1. Animal Welfare First
– Ferrets: Never breed or sell; all adoptables are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and socialized.
– Raccoons: **Never adopted as pets**—placed in licensed sanctuaries or rehabbed for wild release.

2. Radical Transparency
– Disclose all challenges: Raccoon bites, ferret insulinoma costs, and legal restrictions upfront.

3. Education Over Euthanasia
– Free webinars: *”Is a Ferret Right for You?”*, *”Why Raccoons Aren’t Pets”*.
– Partner with state agencies to combat illegal wildlife trade.

4. Lifelong Support
– 24/7 vet hotline, behaviorist consults, and emergency boarding for adopted animals.
